Dr. Melodie M. Billiot
|
In 1994, she began operating her own chiropractic practice. Frustrated by a lack of consistent results in areas other than musculoskelatal, her patient’s increasing drug use and a serious health problem of her own, she started researching holistic chiropractic techniques in 1996. As a result of this research, Dr. Billiot recovered her own health and made significant improvements in patient results.
|
|
Alternative Health Improvement Center was created in 1998, integrating several holistic techniques and advanced patient management practices. The clinic moved to its current location in 2000, with 6,000 sq. feet on 3 floors. Dr Billiot has never stopped researching ways to get better and faster results with patients. Her patient treatment system, BILLIOT HEALTH RESTORATION METHOD, integrates bioenergetic and chiropractic techniques with clinical nutrition and diet and lifestyle correction. These treatment techniques are governed and coordinated with multiple evaluation techniques using reflex analysis, biocomputer and lab testing and program management by statistics.

Chronic: Lasting for a long period of time or marked by frequent recurrence, as certain diseases. |
Health care in the world today is dominated by medicine, which primarily uses drugs and surgery to force the body to change in ways it would not be able to do naturally. Medical treatments can be very successful in emergency situations where the body is unable to heal itself (trauma, injury, severe infection, etc.). However, drugs and surgery have proven largely ineffective in helping people with chronic health conditions where the body is failing to heal itself. For example, allergies, asthma, chronic pain, menstrual problems, stubborn weight, headaches, fatigue, arthritis, depression, chronic digestive problems, skin conditions, sinus problems, recurring infections, food cravings, sleep conditions, irritability or mood swings—often have no “cure” medically. In these cases, drugs or surgery are used only to cover up the symptom, not to handle the cause of the problem. It’s like having a leaky roof and just mopping up the water every time it rains without ever fixing the actual leak. And, just like with the house under that leaky roof, ongoing damage occurs to the body causing the problem to become gradually worse or creating other problems.
Within traditional medicine, there are few permanent solutions for people with chronic health problems. We are not satisfied with the patient “feeling better.” We are only interested in an actual resolution of the health problem and are willing to do the work necessary in achieving this.
Alternative Health Improvement Center is the culmination of over ten years of intensive research in the area of helping or assisting the body to regain its ability to heal itself. The body healing itself is the only successful solution for chronic health conditions since only the body itself can handle these types of problems. Our program, BILLIOT HEALTH RESTORATION METHOD, integrates several effective holistic treatment techniques and evaluation (testing) techniques into a unified patient program (holistic: concerned with the entire body instead of separation into parts). Each patient is carefully evaluated and put on a custom program unique to that person’s condition. As the patient improves, this program changes or evolves as well so that the patient is always being assisted to heal in exact coordination with what the body is trying to correct.
Our patients are usually “medical failure” cases with many years of drug and/or surgical treatment prior to coming to us. Most of our patients are in very poor health when we first see them and most are desperate for help.
Our programs are very defined, and are designed to get patients well and then educate them to keep themselves healthy without continuing to rely on us. Most patients are completely through their programs and stably healthy within nine months to a year. At the end of a program, patients are knowledgeable enough about their own health not to need more than very occasional visits for maintenance.
Since we’re not medical, none of our services qualify for insurance. Staff never spends time doing bureaucratic paperwork just to get payment, all work of any kind is toward getting results with patients.
The majority of patients who start treatment complete full programs. Our patients are very dedicated to recovering their health and rarely miss appointments.
We are extremely organized. Staff has specific areas of responsibility and is in continuing training programs to help them excel in these areas.
We never stop striving to create the perfect environment for patients to recover their health. |
